Varicose and spider veins are some of the most common vascular conditions. These twisted, enlarged veins are more than just a cosmetic problem. They can cause a feeling of heaviness on the legs, burning or throbbing sensation, itching, and pain which could worsen after prolonged sitting or standing.

If you are experiencing any of these and the more conservative measures (e.g. leg elevation, more physical activity, use of compression stockings) are not working, you may want to look into vein treatment.

Vein Treatment at Premier Vascular and Vein Center
To determine the most appropriate vein treatment for you, we will thoroughly assess your vein condition first. We use duplex vein scanning, an ultrasound procedure, to assess and identify the abnormal valve function in your vein. It takes less than an hour and is usually covered by insurance.

Once we evaluate your vein condition, we can recommend the most suitable vein treatment for you. Some of the treatment options we offer include:

Sclerotherapy
This is a minimally-invasive procedure that involves the administration of a vein-irritating solution. This solution causes the diseased vein to swell, collapse, and eventually, fade away.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy
Usually recommended for medium to large varicose veins, ambulatory phlebectomy is another minimally-invasive procedure that’s performed through pinhole incisions. This is usually performed in conjunction with sclerotherapy.

Endovenous Laser Therapy
This vein treatment involves the use of laser energy, delivered through a small puncture in the leg. It’s also an in-office procedure that can be completed in an hour or less.
